Why can't I hear the Dexcom G6 alerts and/or alarm?
Your compatible smart device* beeps, vibrates, and displays a message when you first get an alarm or alert. If you cannot hear your alarm or alerts on your Dexcom G6 app, verify that the app, Bluetooth, volume, and notifications are on. If you restart your smart device, reopen the Dexcom G6 app.
If you cannot hear your alarm or alerts on your receiver, change your alarm and alert sounds in Menu > Sounds. Use Menu > Sounds > Test Now to try out the selected sound to make sure you can hear it easily.
Regarding the Dexcom G6 receiver, the first notification for all alerts (except the Fixed Low alert) will register as a vibration only. If the alert is not acknowledged within 5 minutes, the receiver will alert with a vibration followed by a sound (depending on which profile is selected).
For more information please visit section 14.2 Alarm/Alerts and G6 Readings on page 225 in the Dexcom G6 User Guide.
