Dexcom Follow app for friends & family
The Dexcom CGM System comes with a built-in Dexcom Share feature so you can let up to 10 people follow your glucose levels, giving you a circle of support. By downloading the Dexcom Follow app, Followers can view your glucose data directly from their smart device, whether they live down the street or across the country.*
Sharing glucose data with followers is associated with:
MORE TIME-IN-RANGE1
Data shows that a greater number of Followers correlates with more time spent in range and less time <70 mg/dL.*
PATIENT-REPORTED A1C IMPROVEMENTS2
People with Followers report that data sharing has played a role in lowering their A1C.*
FEWER EPISODES OF HYPOGLYCEMIA2
People with Followers reported experiencing fewer episodes of hypoglycemia and feeling more confident in their ability to avoid and manage low glucose events.*
IMPROVED AMOUNT OF QUALITY SLEEP2
A study of adults with diabetes showed that data sharing results in more quality sleep for the person with diabetes.
GREATER WELL-BEING2
Dexcom users report data sharing gives them greater peace of mind and helps them feel less alone with their diabetes.
REDUCED DIABETES DISTRESS2
1 out of 3 surveyed adults with T1D who shared their Dexcom glucose data with a Follower reported a reduction in diabetes distress.*
Strength in numbers
Dexcom Warrior and professional football player Mark Andrews uses the Dexcom CGM System to help manage his Type 1 diabetes, but as he says, “there are no perfect days.” Thanks to the Share feature and Follow app, Mark’s family was able to take action to get him the help he needed on one of those not so perfect days.* Here’s their story:
Only share what you want to share
We’ve designed the Share feature so that you can pick and choose what you want to share and with which Followers*:
- Share your trend graph or just your glucose value
- Enable Notifications for multiple glucose events, like High and Low
- Or just use the Urgent Low Notification for an extra layer of support
Easily add and remove Followers, or change what information they receive, anytime
For followers, it's simple to customize information
Being able to monitor a friend or loved one's glucose levels helps both the Follower and the Sharer have greater peace of mind.3,4 For those following your glucose data, they'll be able to modify notifications and check your status anytime, day or night, as long as you’ve allowed the access.
