To get set up, watch the video, then download the Dexcom G6 app to your compatible smartphone* and follow the in-app instructions. You can also set yourself up to receive Dexcom G6 readings on a separate compatible smartwatch* however you will still require your compatible phone near your smartwatch to continue to receive readings.

How to insert the sensor and attach your transmitter

Reuse your transmitter

Your transmitter lasts up to 3 months. Be sure to continue to reuse it for multiple sensor sessions. Your Dexcom G6 tells you when your transmitter will need replacing, giving plenty of warning, starting 3 weeks before expiry.

All set for your first sensor!

Your Dexcom G6 sensor lasts up to 10 days. Next, we will show you how to replace your sensor and how your Dexcom CGM system can guide your treatment decisions. Don’t forget to contact your HCP if you need guidance with this.
