Days 1-2

Glucose numbers tell the story.

It’s all about small steps and positive habits. Together with your child, enjoy getting familiar with how Dexcom G7 helps them keep track of their glucose. And remember: You can both take comfort in knowing that no matter where your child is, you’ll be able see their glucose numbers continuously.
On days 1 and 2, help your child try to follow their normal routine and watch how their glucose levels change after meals or insulin doses.
Notice how their symptoms align with the Dexcom G7 app* data, and keep in mind that you may not be used to seeing their levels change in real time.

Now that you and your child have had a few days with Dexcom G7, review your preferences and make any desired adjustments. You can tailor options like high and low threshold alerts, Quiet Mode, and alert sounds to fit what’s best for you both.
A heads-up: Before changing alert settings, talk with your child’s healthcare professional.

How did breakfast affect your child’s glucose today? Did an afternoon snack raise their numbers?
Dexcom G7 makes it possible to watch how food impacts glucose numbers in real time, with readings as frequent as up to every five minutes.
It’s all designed to let you keep a caring eye on your young one’s progress and help you both take more control of their diabetes.

Days 7-8

Clarity comes with insights.

By now, you and your child have been using Dexcom G7 for a week. If you haven’t already, then be sure to explore the Dexcom Clarity** summary feature within the Dexcom G7 app.
In the Dexcom G7 app, you can see high-level glucose insights on the Dexcom Clarity card that’s built into the home screen. It populates once it has enough data to define trends, helping you both gauge how your child is doing. The more you know, the easier it is for your child to stay in range, which can lower their A1C.1-6
If you want to use the Dexcom Clarity app on its own, then you can also download it from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.

Days 9-10

We’re just getting started.

Congrats! Your child’s trial period of Dexcom G7 is almost finished, but the journey to a better A1C and more time in range1-6 doesn’t have to be.
If your child is old enough, then take a pause with them and ask: How do they feel? This is a good time to talk about what you’ve both learned.
It’s also an opportunity to reflect on your own. What did you learn about your child’s glucose this week? Did you identify any patterns? How did Dexcom G7 and the Dexcom Clarity app help manage their diabetes? What new questions do you have for their healthcare professional?
This step is just the beginning, and it gets even better from here. Watch your email for instructions on how you and your child can continue the Dexcom G7 journey to better diabetes management.
