What should blood sugar levels be at bedtime?
Bedtime often presents big challenges for people living with diabetes as it is difficult to monitor your blood glucose while you’re asleep. Diabetes Canada recommends blood glucose levels of 4.0 to 7.0 millimoles per litre (mmol/L) when fasting and before meals, 5.0 to 10.0 mmol/L two hours after meals, and 5.0 to 8.0 mmol/L if A1C targets are not being met.1
Always check with your doctor to determine what your blood sugar levels should look like at bedtime and throughout the night.
