How do I replace the Dexcom G6 transmitter?
Your Dexcom G6 will notify you when your transmitter’s battery has died or if the system detects a problem. You will receive a notification to “Replace Sensor & Transmitter Now” from the Dexcom G6 app or Receiver. The images below outline how to pair a new transmitter. For more detailed information, please consult your Using Your G6 Guide.
Dexcom G6 app
- Pair automatically: Once your session comes to an end, tap the “pair” button when prompted by the app.
- Pair manually: You are also able to manually stop your transmitter and sensor by going to Settings > Transmitter > Pair New. You will then be asked to stop your sensor if your current sensor session is still active.
Once you’ve chosen how to pair your transmitter and complete one of the above, follow the onscreen prompts in the Dexcom G6 app to pair your new sensor and transmitter.
Dexcom G6 Receiver
- Pair automatically: Once your session comes to an end, tap the “pair” button when prompted by the Receiver.
- Pair manually: If the “Pair new transmitter” message does not appear, you must select “Stop Sensor” first, then select Transmitter>Pair New in your settings.
Your Receiver will walk you through the rest of the process. Follow the on-screen prompts to pair your new transmitter.
