Will Android 15 affect my Dexcom G7 system?
Dexcom G7 is not currently compatible with Android 15.
Dexcom has identified that signal loss will occur with phones on Android 15, each time a Dexcom G7 sensor is paired.
When your phone prompts you to update, we recommend declining the update for now.
If your phone has been updated to Android 15, take the following actions each time you pair a new sensor: (It could take up to 15 minutes for any of these to work.)
- Turn Bluetooth off. Then turn it back on and leave it on.
- Keep your display device within 6 meters of the sensor with nothing between them, including your body, walls, and water.
- Keep your display device on the same side of your body as your sensor. Bluetooth works best when the sensor and display device are in sight of each other.
- Keep the app open. Don't swipe it closed.
- If the above steps don’t resolve the issue, restart your phone and the app.
We are working closely with Google to make the Dexcom G7 compatible with Android 15. An update will be rolled out to users in the coming months to enable compatibility.*
*As a reminder, before upgrading your smart device or its operating system, always check dexcom.com/compatibility. Automatic updates of the phone or watch app or your device operating system can change settings or shut down the app. It is crucial to update manually and verify correct device settings afterward. While connected to the internet, the phone and watch apps check periodically and will display a message if it’s not compatible (or no longer compatible) with your phone or your phone’s operating system (OS). The message may include a time frame for updates.
