What is activity logging?

Activity logging is a way to get data from other activity tracking apps and devices into G7 through Apple Health / Health Connect. Once connected, in addition to workout events, iOS users will see their display steps, Active minutes and active energy in the History tab. In addition to workout events, Android users will see their daily steps in the History tab. Both iOS and Android users will see activity data from devices paired with Health Connect and Apple Health (like fitness trackers) on the landscape view of your G7 trend graph and in the History tab.
How do I get activity data into my Dexcom G7 App?
Your Dexcom G7 app can be connected to Apple Health or Google Health Connect to access data from the apps and devices you use to track your activity. Any activity data being captured by other apps or devices must first be synced to Apple Health or Google Health Connect to appear in your app.
  • Dexcom G7 app can only get activity data from Apple Health or Google Health connect. Any Activity data must be connected first to Apple Health or Google Health Connect to appear in your Dexcom G7 app.
  • On the connections tab, tap “Apple Health” for iOS devices and “Health Connect” for Android devices
  • Follow on screen instructions and fill out fields
What do I do if I am having trouble getting activity data into my Dexcom G7 App?
To sync activity data, ensure that your watch, apps, and devices are linked to Apple Health or Health Connect.
On the connections tab, tap “Troubleshooting” if you encounter issues.
Check the G7 Health Connect Connections details page to verify that the app has permissions to sync the data you are looking for or select “manage settings” to access the Health Connect settings and make app permission changes.
What apps and devices are compatible with Apple Health and Health Connect
Health Connect:
A full list of compatible apps that will work with Health Connect on the Google Playstore can be found here. Wear OS watches, Oura rings, Fitbit devices, and several other third-party devices support Health Connect. However, other mainstream fitness apps and platforms like Strava and Garmin, do not work with Health Connect at this time.
Apple Health:
Apple Health is compatible with a wide variety of activity and fitness apps including Apple Watch, Garmin Watch, Oura Ring, Strava, and Peloton. Fitbit does not work with Apple Health.

How do I navigate to Health Connect?
First, check the G7 App’s Health Connect connections “details page” to verify that the G7 app has permissions to sync the data you are looking for. If not select “manage settings” to access the Health Connect settings and make app permission changes.
The method of accessing Health Connect depends on the version of Android that runs on your device:
On Android 14, Health Connect is part of the Android system. You can access Health Connect in the following ways:
  • Go to Settings > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Health Connect.
  • Go to Settings > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Privacy dashboard > (see other permissions) > Health Connect.
  • Go to Settings > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Permission manager > Health Connect.
On Android 13 and lower versions, Health Connect is a publicly available app that you can download from the Google Play Store. Once downloaded, you can access the app through one of the following ways:
  • Go to Settings > Apps, look for Health Connect, and open it
  • Go to the Google Play Store page of Health Connect and tap Open
