Can I use Dexcom G6 during an MRI, CT scan, or diathermy treatment?
Don’t wear or use any Dexcom G6 components (sensor, transmitter, receiver, and/or smart device) for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT) scan, or high-frequency electrical heat (diathermy) treatments.
Dexcom G6 hasn’t been tested in those situations. The magnetic fields and heat could damage its components, which may cause it to display inaccurate Dexcom G6 sensor glucose readings or may prevent alerts. Without Dexcom G6 readings or alarm/alert notifications, you might miss a severe low or high glucose event. Before any of the aforementioned procedures, you should stop your sensor session and remove the sensor. To get the most out of your session, we advise that you try to schedule your procedure near the end of your sensor session to avoid needing an extra sensor. Please consult your doctor for recommendations with any other medical procedures.
