I am currently on Dexcom G6 and Tandem Mobi. How do I upgrade to be able to connect Dexcom G7?

  • Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Distributor
    Reach out to your DME distributor and mention that you would like to upgrade to Dexcom G7.
  • Pharmacy
    Reach out to your healthcare provider for a Dexcom G7 prescription.
I already have a Dexcom order on file at a DME distributor. Does my healthcare provider have to write a new order for G7?
Your DME distributor may be able to use your current order on-file to upgrade you to Dexcom G7. Call your DME distributor to confirm if you need your healthcare provider to send a new order for Dexcom G7. If so, you can ask them to fax a request to you healthcare provider for a Dexcom G7 order.
I already have a Dexcom G6 prescription at the pharmacy. Does my healthcare provider have to write a new prescription for G7?
Yes. Ask your healthcare provider to send a new prescription for Dexcom G7 to the pharmacy.
When am I eligible to order Dexcom G7?
Call your DME distributor or pharmacy that dispenses your Dexcom supplies to find-out when your insurance will allow you to fill your next order for CGM supplies.
I'm insured by Medicare. Am I required to get a Dexcom G7 receiver? Will Medicare pay for a new receiver, if I already have a Dexcom G6 receiver?
In order to qualify for Medicare coverage of your Dexcom G7 supplies, Medicare requires that you have a receiver that is compatible with Dexcom G7 and that you use that receiver with your supplies, even if you also use a compatible smart device, regardless of whether you use an insulin pump. If Medicare does not pay for a new receiver, Dexcom has launched a new upgrade program that includes a Dexcom G7 receiver at no charge for eligible customers.
I receive healthcare from the VA and I’m new to Dexcom and Tandem. How do I get the Tandem Mobi system?
Ask your VA healthcare provider to send a prescription for Dexcom G7 to the VA pharmacy and to submit an order for Tandem Mobi to the prosthetics department.
