What is juvenile diabetes?

Juvenile diabetes is an older term for what is now known as type 1 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is most often diagnosed in children and young adults whose bodies do not make insulin. Some symptoms include frequent urination, extreme thirst, hunger (even though a patient may be eating normally), fatigue, blurry vision, slow healing of cuts and bruises, and weight loss.
