Entering your Transmitter SN into your Dexcom receiver
Remember, your Dexcom G6 Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) transmitter is reusable for about 3 months, while the diabetes sensor has a 10-day wear cycle. When it is time to use a new transmitter, you must also start a new sensor session.
The Dexcom transmitter serial number (SN) is a 4-digit code (a series of numbers and/or letters) that’s required to pair your Dexcom CGM System to your display device*, in this case, your receiver.*
The Dexcom G6 transmitter serial number can be found in the following locations:
- On the transmitter box label - the transmitter SN number is the same as the SN number on the box
- On the bottom of the transmitter - the transmitter SN number is the same as the SN number on the bottom of the transmitter
To set up your receiver, turn it on by pressing the power button for 3–5 seconds and then follow onscreen instructions to remove the sensor and transmitter.
