How do I pair a new Dexcom G4 PLATINUM Transmitter with my Receiver?

Your new Dexcom G4 PLATINUM transmitter will need to be ‘paired’ with your G4 PLATINUM Receiver before use. Any time you switch to a new transmitter and/or receiver you must enter the transmitter ID into your receiver.

Entering your Transmitter ID into your Dexcom Receiver The transmitter ID is a series of 5 numbers and/or letters that can be found in the following locations:

  • On the transmitter box label – the transmitter ID number is the same as the SN number on the box
  • On the bottom of the transmitter - the transmitter ID number is the same as the SN number on the bottom of the transmitter

You can only set your transmitter ID when you are not in a sensor session. During a sensor session, “Transmitter ID” will not be an option on the settings menu. If you don’t see the “Transmitter ID” in the settings menu, select STOP SENSOR first. NOTE: Selecting STOP SENSOR will end a sensor session you may have with a current working transmitter.

Start with the first number or letter (do not enter “SN”):

  1. Press the UP or DOWN button to show the correct number or letter.
  2. Press the RIGHT button to move to the next value and repeat step 1.
  3. Continue repeating steps 1 and 2 to enter the whole transmitter ID.
  4. Press the SELECT button after you enter the last number or letter. You will return to the settings menu.

NOTE: the Transmitter ID menu option is marked with an antenna

Please call your Diabetes Educator with Dexcom (1-877-339-2664 ext. 4900) if you need assistance changing your transmitter.
